COHAB 2005 - the First International Conference on the Importance of Biodiversity to Human Health - will be held in Galway, Ireland from 23rd to 25th August 2005, at the Galway Radisson SAS Hotel.
Biodiversity is one of the most important indicators of global and regional environmental health; the diversity of biological life is also essential to maintaining a healthy biosphere, sustaining global economic development and supporting a healthy human population. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) within the UN Secretary General's road map to achieving the targets of the UN Millennium Declaration rely heavily on the preservation of biological diversity - particularly those goals directly associated with human health and sustainable development. |
