| Dear Friends and Colleagues, The 6th Congress of European Microbiologists (FEMS 2015 Congress) will be held June 7-11, 2015 in Maastricht, The Netherlands. FEMS brings together 52 member societies from 36 European countries, including around thirty thousand microbiologists. FEMS' vision is to promote excellence in, and maximize the impact of, scientific knowledge and innovation in microbiology globally. In keeping with the tradition of past FEMS Congresses FEMS 2015 will be designed to ensure a high-level forum for interdisciplinary dialogue between the various microbiological specialties, as well as topical coverage from leading researchers in key disciplines. Early career scientists are particularly welcome with many attendance grants available for members of FEMS member societies.​ Numerous symposia and workshops led by prominent scientists in their field will provide a platform to appreciate the current state of the art in microbiology and to discuss how our science can contribute to finding solutions to the challenges we face in the future.
